Joshua Garmendiz

Joshua graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a BA in Graphic Design. His passion has always been in art. As a child, Joshua loved the cartoon Tom and Jerry and marveled over how drawings could be put together to make a complete cartoon. His love for 2D art continued through high school where he perfected his drawing and handwriting skills and was the school Calligraphist for all certificates. That passion for handwriting and the beauty of Calligraphy translated well for Joshua into his airbrush artistry skills.

Trained by the Late Great, Gary Fasen, who wrote the book on airbrush and caricature artwork, Joshua worked at Six Flags Great America as a professional airbrush artist for many summers.

When he wasn't at Six Flags, Joshua was perfecting his design skills. As a professional kitchen and bath designer, he brought to life many dream kitchens and baths and was praised daily by customers for his attention to detail and passion for his craft. He has always loved to create custom murals, bedroom decor, custom paint jobs for automobiles, there really are endless possibilities for what he can create.

Professionally, as a Graphic Designer, Joshua is able to see a vision and bring it to life with company branding to make your company stand out over others.

Currently, he is seasonally operating out of Santa's Village Amusement & Water Park in East Dundee IL providing guests a magical experience with his and his family's creative talents offering custom airbrush apparel, facepainting, and temporary tattoos to children and their families in a fun, successful amusement park setting. Joshua has dedicated his time and efforts to teaching the amazing art of airbrushing to the teens of the Chicagoland area. With a newly established headquarters in Waukegan IL, he is excited and honored to bring his experience and creativity to the masses offering in-house graphic design services, airbrush artwork specialty services and knowledge, community outreach & involvement while offering art classes of all kinds for children and adults.

Joshua's ultimate goal is to continue to have JG Artz at Santa's Village and ultimately expand to other amusement parks and continue to train the youth this elegant art style. He would love nothing more than to pass on his knowledge to the next generation of artists and to pass on Gary Fasen's legacy as it was so graciously given to him.

Joshua and his family FIRMLY believe in the arts and culture and live it every day. His dedication and hard work have always been paramount to his success in all facets of life.
